The RCEA (Railtown Cultural Enhancement Association) has
revived this performing songwriter series, to be presented
once a month
Each month three new songwriters will be presented performing
their original music in-the-round for 2 sets.
This format, with all performers sharing the stage as they
do at folk festival workshops, presents opportunities for
spontaneous musical magic amongst the artists.
The series which was created by Astrid Sars, a musican
and songwriter herself, had a very successful run back in
2003 showcasing a great variety of artists, in many different
genres. She is excited to
start the tradition up again with presenting 3 compelling
BC singer/songwriters monthly in this new 2008 series "Songs
from the Source"
Beverley Elliott: works primarily as an actress in the
film and TV industry, but is also an accomplished songwriter
with a country/folk flair that can be heard on her CD Yellow
Dress. She considers her greatest achievement to be her
young daughter Sally.. www.augustmusic.net
Rae Armour:- "Rae Armour's voice and songs are a clear
and confident expression of a life lived with sensitivity,
guts, and integrity. This is classic music that goes straight
to the point, moving from introspection to exultation without
gimmick, trend or artifice. /www.raearmourmusic.com
Linda Kidder:One of Vancouver's favorites, Linda Kidder
is a charismatic performer with the voice of an angel....
